Hi Ho Mike,
I had a Mikuni sidedraft (a twin to the Weber) on a 77 B a couple of
years ago. I found it to make a noticable difference in acceleration at
higher speeds. Made for those transitions from slow lane to fast lane
changing easier. I also noticed that my gas economy went out the
exhaust pipe also. The 77 B I'm driving now has the Weber downdraft on
it and I'm really very surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. It
performs very well. Would I switch my 75 B's SUs for a Weber? No way
but I'm not going to go to the trouble of switching the 77 B to SUs
either. I have a couple of Weber downdraft set ups available, which
include the Carb, intake manifold and air cleaner housing. Both are
auto choke models (if my memory serve me correctly). $150 each, great
deal! Safety Fast, David Deutsch
