This is not a very representative list, consisting of granny cars. Most 
UK cars are much nippier. 0-60 in 10 or 11 sec is more common.

My everyday hatch does 0-60 in 7sec and has a top whack of 127mph.

Let's face it, you don't buy an old sports car for performance. If you 
want a fast MG, go for a new MGF VVC. If you want character, buy an MGB 
or Midget.
