This has naturally enough been a topic of intense conversation in the
rr.b mail group. The informed consensus seems to be (at this stage)
that BMW has the upper hand, in that they designed the V-12 for the
new series of cars and have a contractual alliance already. The only
other serious contender is Daimler-Benz, although dozens of other
possibilities have been rumoured, from Saudi oil sheikhs to Japanese
consortiums. No serious talk of American companies getting into that
action. Hyundai, maybe? Would do wonders for its image....
