Oddly enough, my '77 had one right on the end of the hood. The PO claimed it

original when he got the car and he was the second owner. It looked dumb. It

right over the MG emblem and seemed to look like a stone chip from a distance.
Since
then, I've never seen another car with one, so I assumed it was another DPO
badge-bodge.
