I have an MSD. It uses the std. points but I point wear is greatly
reduced. No more difficult starts on rainy days. Just don't 
pull the plug wires off the plugs while the car is running it'll kick
like you like a mule. I've used both w/ a Mallory dual point dist. and
w/ std. '73 Lucas unit. The Mallory is great but the lack of a vacuum
unit hurts partial throttle drive-ability. the unit failed once while
under warranty and got a replacement with in 5 days.
