Great going Larry !!! I was in a little competition myself this
weekend. Just back from the Brits of the Hudson / Eastern NY MGA "Dare
to be British" weekend. Yesterday was a day a Lime Rock, which included
access to pit areas filled with lots of great vintage race stuff and 3
parade lapse on the main track but the highlite for me was autocross.
Last year the had timed runs on the 1/4 training track but this year
they added the cones (to slow it down a little). There were 25 or 26
cars running: about eight or nine Bs and TRs, a Bugeye (which bested me
last year), a Stag, an Acura integra, a MG TD, a Midget, 2 MGA
roadsters, 1 MGA Coupe, a Lotus Elan and Lotus Seven. I did this list,
North American MGB Register and MG Car Club - Long Island Centre proud
with the 3rd best time of the day. Was only bested by the two Lotuses.
Eileen (wife) stood by watching and saying, to Mike and Joan Robson,
things like, "he's breaking the car, isn't he?". Great feeling.

We caravaned, with about 12 - 15 cars, from Lime Rock, Ct over to
Newburgh, NY Holiday Inn (about 3/4s of an hour ride) for a very nice
outdoor chicken and ribs dinner. This morning started with a breakfast
or 3 and a quick "once over" with some car wash and a hose. Headed over
to Algonquin Park for a popular vote car show. Lots of nice cars. Rain
came in a little after noon and Joan (Mike's wife) and Eileen were
antcy to get home to kids after two days away, so we hit the highway
prior to awards presentations. Nice run home to finish a terrific
weekend. Looking forward to next weeks (Sunday's) Long Island "The
British are Coming!!!" super event (show/funkhana/valve cover
racers/vendors etc.). Have a freat week and hope to see more of you at
the show next week.

Safety Fast,
David B have'n fun Deutsch
