Wow! Scary stuff... I'm sure sorry to hear about your loss.... 

BUT I should consider myself lucky, I suppose. I have found Darlin's hood
latch open, the bonnet apparently only held by the secondary latch, on more
than one occasion. I'm waitin' til dark so I can count my lucky stars!
