Hi gang,

After numerous delays and a few recent SNAFUs, the MGA with an attitude is
back on the road. After a quarter million miles (including 127K under in
my hands since its restoration) I suppose it deserved a little rest. So
now it has all the wrinkles ironed out, a new coat of paint and some fresh
chrome, soon to have a new top, tonneau cover and carpet, and now it's
finally time to kick some butt again! Har, har, har! And what better way
to break in a new paint job than some autocrossing and a thousand mile road
trip?

Saturday and Sunday, the 18th and 19th, the MGA and I will be doing two
days of autocross at Vermilion County Airport in Danville, Illinois.
Anyone with the appropriate attitude is welcome to come out and play. Just
showing up is usually good for a fast lap in the navigator seat, and a
smile and a handshake is often enough for a driver's ticket. I will be
camping in the area on Saturday night, possible at Kickapoo State Park (if
the remodeling is finished). Friends are welcome around the campfire
whether they stay over or not. RC airplanes, canoeing, horseback riding
and motorcycle races are optional. Anyone with an interest just give a
hoot for more details.

Next week we'll be in Chattanooga at NAMGAR GT-23 for a few days of PARTY!
I seem to have an extra leisure day to kill on the way down, and I'm likely
to be in Kentucky or Tennessee by Monday evening. Anyone have some good
idea what to do in that general area? After the GT I'm likely to spend an
extra day for white water rafting on the Ocoee River before returning home.
Then I understand there's another autocross at the Tire Rack test lot in
South Bend on Sunday, the 26th. Anyone going to be in northern Indiana
then? Or for a measly 500 miles of extra travel, there's a British car
poker run out of DuBuque, Iowa, on the 26th. Or, if there was just a half
decent reason, The MGA with an attitude could be anywhere within 500 miles
of Chattanooga by Saturday evening. Any suggestions?

And for the duration of the nine day (or maybe longer) trip, I will have my
e-mail forwarded to juno.com for the traveling phone numbers, and I will be
carrying the laptop gadgets to keep in touch, so keep on sending all those
messages.

Now that the MGA is back on the road the world is a much nicer place,
warmer sun, cooler breezes, sweeter smelling flowers, brighter stars, and
much nicer sounding exhaust notes. And for all of you MG fanatics, MGA
nuts in particular, hoist one with attitude and let's have a big community
toast! Hip, hip!

Cheers to all, even the trouble makers. 8)
