Getting ready for a 800 Mile round trip next week, and very suddenly, two
problems seem to have cropped up.

Clutch: Less than 10K mile on clutch (including throw-out bearing). The
engine/tranny was out of the car about a month or so ago for a tranny
re-build (not done by me, but by a LBC specialist locally). No problems
noted with clutch. Last night when I depressed the pedal, it wouldn't go
in. Seemed to be some mechanical interference. After releasing pressure on
the pedal, and depressing it again, it functioned fine. This was repeated
this A.M., again it went away as quick as it came. Seems like somthing in
the linkage is jamming, or the slave cylinder piston is blocked temporarily.
Does not feel or act like a hydraulic problem, and the master is full.

U-Joints(Maybe?): Does the following sound like a u-joint going bad? Only
noticable at low R.P.M (i.e. 1500 or so), when you stomp on the gas - like
some have described to test for pinging due to too much advance. Noise
seems to be eminating under the mid section of the car - not under the
bonnet. Higher pitch "clicking" or "ticking" - sounds like a diesel engine
clattering - too high a frequency to be a per rev effect. Cannot hear it
when accelerating at higher R.P.M. U-joints have less than 15K miles on
them. Does this sound like the needle bearings in the U-Joint going bad?
Any other ideas?

Any suggestions are welcome. I leave Tuesday A.M., and if I can't figure
these out I'll have to drive the F*rd (yuck).
