  I'll buy that if you mean with the engine off.   But look, when it's
rolling in nuetral, engine off, only the 3rd motion shaft and associated
parts need to be lubed.  Looks to me that if the tranny is topped up
the  3rd motion shaft in at least half-awash in oil.  Looks to me as if
it ought to throw enough oil around to take care of itself.

  Uhuh.  But aren't you in the towing business?  You have a nice wrecker
at hand to pick the car up 3' off the ground.  Or do I have you mixed up
with someone else?

  OK, I'd be conservative about it too if I was in the towing business.
You could go wrong if the tranny was low on oil, etc.
