The prices for 4 post lifts run from $2,250 (including shipping) to
$3,200 (plus
shipping ~ $300). Most lifts are cable driven, including Backyard Buddy

and
AutoLifters. Garage Equipment sells the Bend-Pak 7000
(http://www.bendpak.com),
which is chain driven.

Backyard Buddy and Autolifters do not require anchoring, the Bend-Pak
does.
The B-P has a pneumatic release, B-B & A-L (are mechanical - cable
again)
B-B & A-L sell accessory jack trays and catch trays, B-P doesn't.
A-L also sells a trailer kit so you can cart the lift about town - maybe

to your BIL's house!

Beyond that, I belive they're quite similar - 220 VAC hydraulic pump
driven,
14" - 18" wide ramps (adjustable on the Bend-Pak).

Between the A-L and B-B, I think that the A-L is somewhat better
constructed.

Pricing: Bend-Pak $2,250 Delivered
  AutoLifters $2,795 + shipping ($310) = $3,105
  Backyard-Buddy $2,795 + shipping

2 Post and Asymetrical lifts are (generally) less expensive, but MUST be

anchored to 'strong' concrete - and I'm not willing to bet on a 30 year
old
residential garage floor!

For my use, the Bendpack will be fine. Besides, the $855 difference
just about
pays for Eloise's new interior!! (btw, if you're interested in the B-P,

talk
to Cruz at Garage Equipment)

If I didn't care about price - I'd go with the AutoLifters.
