Block Painting

Hi MGers, I plan to paint my block 77B and would like some advise. I noticed
that the engine is originaly black painted over a sort of orange. Should I
remove the black and orange paint? Is the orange maybe powder coated as
protection? this seems a bit weired to me. From what I have read the 77B has
a black block and maroon valve head? Thanks Enrique
