MGB bumper conversion

If you're going to do this may I recommend two really useful components.
The first is a pair of front bumper brackets designed to bolt on to your
existing mounting points enabling you to simply bolt on the chrome bumper.
The second are a pair of inserts specially made to weld in below the rear
lights.  These are both made by and available from an outfit called West
Yorkshire MG in the UK.  Look for ad's in UK mags.  They sell a full
conversion kit but really, it's the two parts listed above that are key.  I
did this conversion to a '76 B a few years ago and could never get the front
suspension right.  Ultimately, I believe, it causes the steering column to
enter the rack at the wrong angle, which means the rack has to be
re-located.  This, coupled with the stiffer front springs, gave copious
amounts of bump steer.  I ended up selling my car and now have a '72.
