The renovations are in their final stage at home and SWMBO has once again
started agitating for the sale of our seldom used Jensen Interceptor
convertible, so I told her I'd post it to the group.
It is a 74 non-wood dash car that was owned by the operator of a body shop in
Vancouver. When business was slow, he had the shop work on the Jensen, and
they stripped the whole car to bare metal and did it up from scratch. It has
around 65,000 miles on it.
It is painted in a Jaguar colour, Fawn, which is a slightly metallic gold.
The interior is Magnolia, that creamy colour that works very well with the
white top and gold body.
The guy redid the soft top liner, (in 'mushroom', I believe) and all of the
top bows, etc., a rather lengthy job.
He also replaced all of the carpets.
The chrome was replated, and all that is left to do is to tidy and detail the
engine compartment.
It is on the block for $40,000 Canadian That must be about
$200 US by now, isn't it?
The car is located in Vancouver BC, and I do have a picture that
was scanned in and that a guy on the Jensen group was kind enough to convert
to a fast loading self extracting exe file which can be e-mailed to anyone
that is interested. The car has both the original leather steering wheel
available, and a wood Motolita
currently installed, and will go with a custom birdseye maple shift knob
(there is no wood on the dash to match, so I could get away with matching the
steering wheel).
Not really interested in trades, but you never know unless you ask.
I did have some thought of buying a Maserati Ghibli coupe (I might get by
with this by a careful reading of the automotive non-proliferation treaty with
SWMBO - a car for a car doesn't really represent an increase, does it? Glad
you agree - I may need character witnesses at the subsequent spousal
castigation hearing. >
