Kevin,

I'm gearing up to do this, so I can a) have some more rubber on easy
to find Z-car wheels whilst I'm in DSP, b) be prepared for the fact
I'm going to need serious rubber when the V-8 goes in.

>From the various wise-ones on this and other MG related lists, I
understand that one takes a wire-wheel rear axle assembly (which
I have sitting in the garage right now) and installs the hubs from
a bolt-on set-up. The wire-wheel assembly retains its half-shafts
and so forth.

The one concern I have right now is that my 14" revolutions (which I've
only played with on the front of the car) come *very* close to the tie-rod
ends. I'm afraid there may be some interference on the back, as on stock
steel wheels I've had my rear sway bar links machine a little bit of lead
off of wheel weights mounted on the inside of the rims.

I'm hoping I can find some hubs in a 'yard somewhere, as I don't really
want to take apart the axle I'm using now. All things considered, spare
bits are really nice. I'll keep this list informed as to how things go.
I will also be doing some fact finding this weekend, and I'll be
weighing rostyles, wire-wheels, ARW alloys, magnesium revolutions, and
some various tire types.
