We had a mechanic at Scotland Yard in Denver called Davy Bloch.  He would
resolve the "mine's better than yours" arguments that our customers would
get into whilst waiting for service, by tossing his car keys to the arguing
party.  "It's the tatty white car out back, thrash it around the block.
Then tell me what is the best sports car."   Minutes later, the windswept
customer would be back with a knowing smile on their lips.  Be it MG, TR or
Healey the owners would shake their heads and wistfully acknowledge defeat.
The car,   A Series 1 Lotus Elan.

        Thrashed, fiberglass cracking, no top.  But still the most fun car I
have ever driven.
