On the way home yesterday, I saw one of the saddest sights I have come
across in a while.

What appears to be a 1977 wire wheel MGB, sitting behind a house amongst
a mound of trash. No top or frame, leaves and trash filling the
passenger compartment, no windshield or w/s frame, some body crinkles on
both front fenders, but no visible rust... 4 speed trans, dashboard
detatched... painted spoke wheels, tires still holding air... I
knocked on the door of the house, but no one home. So I ventured
(trespassing? I couldn't resist) a peek under the hood, a Zenith
Stromberg carb, all essential bits appeared to be in place... A peek in
the trunk revealed a newspaper from 1990... last time used?

Although I resist the tendency to be a sucker for lost causes, there are
some body panels I could use, and the thought of a spare engine in my
garage to rebuild at my leisure is appealing... I really should
resist. I suppose if I could talk the owner out of it I could part it
out... "Keep 'em on the road"
