Bud,

  If you look at the pump it says "Top" by the outlet side.  I asked the
same question when I took the Midget pump out of mine and installed the
B pump.  No one answered me definitvely so I looked under a lot of Bs.
;^)  Anyhoo, I installed mine with the outlet on top because that's the
way it was installed in the Bs that looked original.  Had to do some
fancy tubing bending to get the new rigid line from the tank to mate up.
A DPO had butchered the old line. 
 Interestingly, the photos in my Porter's, "Guide to Purchase and  DIY
Restoration" show the pump in two different orientations.  Go figure.

  It work OK in the orientation I described.  Now if I could just get
the damned fittings to quit seeping!  Anyone got a neat trick to take
care of that?
