Jay I like the honing method because you don't need a machine shop to do the
job. I just finished fitting new bushings in my Mini's radius arms which is
supposed to be a specialist's job.
The MGB (or Marina) valve guides are probably too small for a stone hone,
however. The smallest I have is about 1/2 inch. I have used a twist drill
bit attached to a tap handle and gently worked it clockwise by hand until I
had the required clearance.
Where there's a will there is usually a way.
