Acid dip will remove undercoating and paint which will make the spot weld
locations easier to see.  It will not loosen the spot welds.  One of the
most difficult parts of panel replacement is figuring out where all the spot
welds are under coated surfaces.  Typical rust repair on an MGB shell would
be floors, rocker panels and rear fenders.  If the rust has penetrated the
main frame sections, rear suspension mounting points or tunnel then you are
probably better off with either a better or new shell.  Add up the costs of
new fenders, door skins, trunk and repair panels.  Then take a critical look
at repair costs and abilities.  If the shell is badly rusted check this list
for better condition shells that are about to be crushed.  It is very sad to
see repairable shells going to the crusher in rust free areas that would be
saved elsewhere.
