I might be mistaken, but I have replaced the door glass seals on two
MGBs (the '70 and the '78), and in neither case did I need to remove the
window.  I simply rolled the window down and got my cordless drill to
work, and those rivets came right out.  Of course, the job was so simple
that now the rubber is starting to crack.  Now I get to redo my work. 
Oh, well.
