Oh, no, Steve! The dreaded oil sloshing in the coil! The only cure is to
donate your TD to a worthy OF whose PA restoration is taking too long and
who needs to be behind the wheel of a "real" MG again....:-)

But, seriously, yes it is oil and no it didn't leak in there from the
engine. It's there to cool the coil - and is one reason why coils are
usually mounted upside-down, so that the oil surrounds the base of the
terminals where most of the heat-generating activity takes place.
