Absolutely agree with you, most cars have had engines removed/replaced etc,
less so in this country I might add where Engines etc aren't exactly easy to
come by and we tend to restore more than replace, even in bad cases. Someone
said before, Australia isn't the place we find MG's lying in fields etc! :)
With respect to my GT, I am the 2nd owner of this car (15 yrs) and the car
was in storage for 10 years prior to that. We bought it with less than 20K
on the clock, so this has been a very interesting car from a concours point
of view (before I started ripping stuff off it, converting it to RHD etc -
whoops!) In fact the car was only on the road 4 years before it was stored.
Owner got very sick and couldn't drive. So I'm sure the primer, paint etc is
original.
