Hi Allen,
As threads go, this one's kind of old now. I bought the Craftsman 1 5/16"
3/4" drive socket and a Craftsman 3/4" breaker bar. I don't regret that
decision. Since that day I have removed six axle nuts and in all cases I had to
augment my 6'1" 240 # torque generation with the use of a 4 foot length of pipe.
The torque spec is 150 ft.lbs. and then up to the next castle for the cotter
pin. I've used my Craftsman 1/2" breaker bar (wedged against the ground) to
counter the torque and it now has a slight bend in it.
I'm going to have to buy a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter so that I can use the
socket with my torque wrench, which is 1/2" drive. With luck I'll be
reassembling rear axles today!
