Hi folks,

Received the new heater hoses so I was ready to start the heater valve
replacement on the '77B. Something didn't look right. I ordered both hoses
just for the sake doing the whole job at one time. The 'other' hose that I
ordered, i.e., the one not connected to the valve, doesn't look like the one in
the car. This hose is connected from the heater to the pipe at the back of the
head. I looked at my other '77B (aka BfromHell) and saw that this pipe is
connected to the Z-S carb system in that car.

Please remember that the car came with dual HS4's, air conditioning and a
weird brake configuration. For the sake of the a/c the car has a mechanical fan
and the lower radiator hose connects to an elbow with the plug, ala '62-'71
B's. For the heater to work it needs to be plumbed between the pressure side of
the coolant system and the return side. Would anyone know if the heater valve
is on the pressure side and if the pipe is on the return side. Or or they both
on the same side so there's no head between them, and therefor no water through
the heater. (The a/c was installed in Florida.)

After Monday's commute I'll give you a report on the first 1,000 miles of
commuting via MGB.
