Im fairly sure i know the answer(s) to this but in the hope that i may be
wrong would appreciate a few opinions
My GT has just not been running right......
symptoms
-runs fine at rest - no missing, popping or untoward sounds
-needs about 1/4 chke to keep idle going however
-not "pulling" well at all - loss of power, feels like the brakes are on
-occasional puffs(large) of smoke from tailpipe when pulling away (gray,
slight blue tinge) - no pattern as to when this will occur - random
-occasional pinging under load - sounds like pinking but harsher
-no perceived leaks or loss of coolant
-plugs uniformly "ok"
oh, and add to the list, wont shift out of overdrive unless changed into
2nd - not related but just as concerning
Yes......i do suspect something horrific such as rings, camshaft wear etc
but im prepared to try anything else first!!!!!
