Where did this guy come from? Granted, he DID give some
information that could be helpful to MG'ers, but that's not a
license to write garbage like this.
As long as I've been on the MG list, (two years), I've never
seen someone so rude and ignorant. I don't think the good folks
that make this list what it is will stand for someone running on
like this. Even if it's a joke, it's in very, very poor taste.
As for the drivel he scratched out, I'm not going to go into it,
but I've yet to meet a person who can drive a standard flawlessly
without practice - male or female. I think the 'women can't drive
sticks' attitude is one reason manual transmission production has
fallen off in recent years. Guys like this get it into ladies heads
that driving a standard is a 'man thing' and women should stick to
automatics. Hooey.
As for defending women, no I'm not writing this to defend women.
I'm writing this because it's a darn shame people can get on a good
list like this and create turmoil. Pierre, you fancy yourself as a
shrink. Anyone can write condescending words and act smug and call
themselves whatever they want - for all you know, I live down the
road from you and know that you're a 12 year old boy playing a
prank! If you really are a Canadian, you're doing your countrymen
on this list a great disservice.
I'd like to see this guy removed from the list. His past three
posts have been obscene, condescending, and utterly uncalled for.
Get him off here, Mark!
