Charley: I never had the experience of a mech. gauge leak. While I generally
dont subscribe to the fear and loathing some have about Lucas, the electric
oil senders I've had on various MG, Jaguar, and Land Rover products were
unreliable and were eventually replaced. I have not heard of a case of a Smith
or Jaeger gauge leaking yet, but I imagine it has happened to somebody. I have
had fittings leak when I didnt install them correctly, but thats another
story! :>) Cheers, Andy
