The only real causes of the poor hanling of the RB cars compared to the
earlier models are the increased ride height, and the weight of those giant
chunks of rubber and steel hanging off the ends of the car.  The first
problem is relatively simple to fix, as there are parts available to lower
the suspension.  Now, what we need is a replica bumper made of lighter
materials, such as an aluminum bar, a foam filler, and a thin urethane
cover. This is how all the modern bumpers are made.  If that sounds too
complex, how about pulling a mold off of an original bumper and making a
fiberglass one?  Anybody out there with too much free time and money to
play around with this?
