Copper RTV remove or leave it on

Hi list, OK so I messed up and put high temp copper RTV on my valve head.
Since the engine has not been fired I can still unbolt the head and remove
the RTV or just leave it on. My dad tells me its OK I leave it on as long
as the engine does not over heat? What do you think I should do. Regards,
