  You can change the big end bearings and the rings for about
$125 without removing the engine if you do the (easy) work
yourself.

  While this is a valid thing to do to an old engine, it's not
a full rebuild. It'll cut down on oil consumption and bring
back some power, but likely won't last as a full rebuild
should.

  For that price, seems like a decent deal if there indeed is
no rust. (as opposed to covered up rust and painted shiny
again, be careful).
