There was once a Triumph TR6 owner with a similar problem... but it wasn't
the bootlid!  It was the bonnet.

Unfortunately, it had locked itself down... and no matter what this bloke
tried to do, he was unable to get the bonnet latch to release!  The ever
ingenious fellow grabbed his handy - and nearby - sawzal and cut the bonnet
in two.  This is how it remains to this day, and the car now owned by Len &
Scott Drake (they did not do it however!)
