Tyson -
There is supposed to be a slight vacuum in the crankcase. No pressures.
The vacuum is created by the tiny hole in the rocker cover vent pipe -
which will not allow as much air into the rocker cover as the carb(s) draw
out through the tappet cover vent.
I too have a '76 with twin SUs - and it works great with a Toyota PCV
valve. (It also leaks less oil than our '92 Cherokee parked next to it in
the garage.) I know nothing about the Weber, but still question the vacuum
from the Weber to the tappet cover. One solution - probably lacking the
EPAs blessing - is to vent the crankcase through a pipe from the tappet
cover to just below the sump as in the real early Bs. Or... I don't know
what kind of air cleaner you have with the Weber - you might also tap into
the air cleaner to get a vacuum line to the tappet cover. ' Sounds to me
like you're not getting vacuum to the tappet cover line.
