Louis - the hazard flasher is usually in that position. As I recall it
should be in a spring clip but may have been replaced with one of a
different shape. My GT V8 has a replacement one with a round canister, but
I did manage to wedge it into the clip when I fitted a radio. I also had to
carefully arrange the wires above and below the casing in order to get the
radio fully seated, but it did fit in.
