Well not only am I a MG nut but I have also owned 10 Corvairs over the past
5 or 6 years.  The Corvair did indeed get a bad rap from Mr.. Nader but he
didn't kill the Corvair per se. GM had already decided to let the Corvair
die out before Nader's claims.  The real "killer" of the Corvair was the
Mustang.  The Mustang was stylish, sporty and offered V-8 power while the
Corvair offered turbocharging, the general public still looked to the
Mustang to scratch the itch for a sporty performance car.

The Corvair is a neat car that is definitely different from every other car
in many respects.  Once a person learns the handling characteristics of the
car, the Corvair can be a blast to drive.  the Corvair Society of America is
a large national organization dedicated to the Corvair.  Check them out at
