I assume you're having problems separating the outer tie rod
end from the steering arm at the wheel end.??
The tapered pin of the tie rod end does like to 'stick'
I've found in practice the easiest way to separate them is
to place a support jack under the end of the tie rod bolt with
its nut backed off just to the end of the bolt threads.
With the end of the bolt supported you can safely hammer
away at the steering arm to in essence.... 'drive the steering arm
down off the taper' of the tie rod bolt.
SAFETY: When supporting the bolt you only want to put enough
jacking force/weight on the bolt to support it. Remember ...when it
does break loose the arm is going to drop to the nut holding it.
Hopefully the nut will be reusable.... but it's advisable to go ahead
and replace the tie rod ends while you have it apart.
...one less part to worry about.
