List,

FYI - here is a copy of the letter I sent over to Carlisle regarding the
import show. But first, here is the Carlisle contact info from their web

PS - Please remember that I'm on the digest so if anyone has already
mentioned this, never mind.

Dear Sirs:

I am writing to express my extreme concern about the date for the import
portion of the Import-Kit/Replicar Car show. Am I correct in my
understanding that you are moving the date for the import show component
from May to September in 2001? For future years as well? If so, I can
assure you that I will not be happy with the change in date. Please
understand that this show has been a tradition among many sports car owners
for a number of years now (since 86 or so - despite the conflict with
Mother's Day!). The import show has always represented the start of a new
season and the place to start that season has been at Carlisle. To spoil
this east coast tradition will be a travesty.

While I cannot speak for others I can earnestly say that I will not attend
a fall import show. It will serve no purpose for me. It's too far to
travel after an entire season of campaigning to the various shows in the
East. By the fall, I've seen all my fellow enthusiasts and I don't
generally need any parts for winter storage. Perhaps others will feel
differently.

I will appreciate a reply.

Sincerely,

Douglas Russell
