Hi Jay,
I know just what you mean about the rippled window. In my case it was cos
the guy i bought it from had folded it all wrong (i.e. all down the middle).
If you fold it right (which took me a whole evening to figure out when i
first got the thing... you can find a copy of the original instructions at
http://www.mgb.bc.ca/) then the windows are flat, and never have a fold
going through them. You then roll the canopy over the bar at the top of the
windshield (I layer a towel over the window at this point and roll it all up
together to stop any of the metal parts scratching the plastic).
Anyhow, I've had the top up for a week due to inclement weather here (I
can't be bothered to take it up and put it down every time i leave the
garage) and the back window has stretched itself out nicely. The rear-most
rib (which attaches to the cant lever behind the last snap for the top)
provides all the tension on my top... are you sure that yours is popped all
the way up. I'm certain that it's this rib on mine that provided the tension
to stretch my window flat
