My limited knowledge of carbs is showing.  Why not just remove the head and 
stick a carb on top of each cylinder?  Then you don't have to adjust the 
valves.  Maybe not...compression would be terrible, but the flames shooting 
out the air filter would be impressive.

I'll keep thinking about it.
