Dear List:

What is the proper (or perhaps easiest) method of setting mixture on HS2
carbs? One local LBC enthusiast (and former mechanic) suggested that it
must be done with an exhaust gas analyzer, and if the cabs are out of synch,
the readings on the analyzer will flutter.

Another friend of mine recommends disconnecting the throttle shaft, bringing
the idle of one carb down to virtually zero, and then adjusting the jet on
the other carb until the highest idle setting is reached (at which point,
its mixture should be correct). Then the procedure is reversed with the
other carb. After the mixture is set, the the idles are synchronized.

The second method makes sense, but I don't see how it can be done without
constantly stalling out the engine.

What is the best way to set the mixture?

Regards,

Charles
