The B was under water for about three hours. 12 feet of water makes
about 5.6psi of pressure (0.465 psi/ft) so there was ample pressure
and ample time for water to get into the engine through open valves,
etc.. I anticipate a complete rebuild.
The car was completely restored right before the flood. Pale
Primrose/ black and beautiful. Even has new wires. The car will
take a lot of TLC to bring it back. I mean EVERYTHING will
be affected. Imagine the guages -- full of water! Then again, Lucas
electrics may well work BETTER once drowned! :-P
Thanks for the concern. Fortunately I can buy the car for about
what the new wire wheels are worth. If it turns out to be totally
unsavable, I will have a bunch of all-but new parts. :-|
Then again, I have saved worse. It's just a question of time.
