To add to this thread - if you do it yourself, make sure you have a good 
heavy duty press to help push out the old u-joints. I've replaced the 
u-joints on both my MGs. The first one was pretty straight forward. 
However, on my 67BGT, I had a small light duty press, which was too small 
to do the job. The bad u-joint had fused itself in the yoke and I also had 
to cut one of the bolts off that held the drive shaft in place. I finally 
had to take the drive shaft to a shop and have them remove and replace the 
u-joints, much to my disappointment.

In short, you should at least be able to remove the drive shaft youself. 
But if you run into any problems after that, you can always just have a 
garage do the actual drive line itself as a last resort.
