Timing issues

Hi Gang,
   I have two MGs.  One is a '79 MGB LE roadster and
the other is a '70 MGB-GT.  What is the best timing
advance for these two cars.  The need is a setting for
street use only.  I have read everything from 13 degrees
BTDC to 6 degrees BTDC.  The manual seems to be too
generic.  What is YOUR experience?  What is best?
