I've done it on a Midget, but not my 73 GT.

...maybe you should have considered one of the Smith
dual press/temp gauges as used in the Midget and others.
That way no new guage holes are needed.
This is the route I'm taking to add a press gauge to my Spitfire.

Subject: possible extra 2" gauge location?

Modifications in the engine compartment are almost ready for the
mechanical Smiths oil temperature gauge (2" diameter) that I want to add
to my car. This is because I am not using an oil cooler.

However, I cannot seem to figure where to install the gauge itself. With
the exception of the radio panel (I'd hate to open up such a large hole
to it), has anyone added at least one extra gauge to your car? If so,
where did you put it and how? Besides the instrument itself, I also have
a single 2" bracket that I cannot fasten anywhere below the dashboard
because of its curvy shape.... Any ideas?
