What the heck is a "seat squab?"  My dictionary says a squab is a young 
pigeon.

If you mean the lever on the side of the seat back, it is the recliner.  
There is no release for the headrests, AFAIK, but I have a Midget.  Just put 
the hood down, stand behind the seat, pull HARD on the headrest, and watch 
out for your chin.

After you get them loose, clean everything and lube with white lithium grease.

If you are have lots of problems with seat adjustments, take the seats out, 
clean EVERYTHING, and lube all the sliders with white lith.  They even sell 
the stuff in spray cans.
