removing paint from Rostyle wheels

Hello folks,

I assume that sand blasting wheels is the best way to remove old paint,
but seeing as how I don't have a blasting cabinet or any of the other
paraphenalia, would a paint stripper do the job. Has anyone used a
stripper in this manner before? Was is real messy?
