AGM batteries actually have lower internal resistance which allows them to
accept more charge (and discharge currents). They are very high performance
lead acid batteries, but you will pay much more for them than flooded
batteries.

These batteries are being used on some electric vehicles because of their
awesome current handling capabilities.
