I see your point, but some of us who 1) don't drive every day; and 2) don't
have a garage, can't avoid getting caught with the tonneau in a downpour now
and then. In this climate, I much prefer exposing the relatively cheap,
windowless tonneau to the fierce sun, rather than the soft top. My top has
lasted over twelve years (with windows intact) due to this practice. The
carpet is another story, however...
