Keith,
Another source of a knocking could be from the front crossmember. There
are 8 rubber pads total and if they deteriorate, they will fall out
causing slop in the mounting of the crossmember to the frame rails. It
may not be an easy thing to check for. See the Moss or VB catalog for an
illustration of the pads and location.
