There is probably some pressure differential with the fan running constantly 
however, when I rebuilt the water pump in my TwinCam Coupe I built up the 
impeller height and then machined it to give the minimum clearance recommended 
in the shop manual.............no more overheating problems with the stock 
radiator.  :)
